Did you ever have any luck identifying this cue? When I first heard it during that episode six years ago, I desperately wanted it to be from a longer piece. It's quite likely a cue composed for the scene, but it always struck me as being quite different stylistically from Jon Ehrlich and Jason Derlatka's very Thomas Newman-eque original music for the series (which was quite good).
Anyway, I just ran across an old recording of this cue that I made from the TV, and now I'm obsessed again.
How did you find it? Also, I've been unable to track it down online. I found the EP it is on ("EP2"), but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere. Any link to where I can listen to it? It would be amazing if you've found this song after eight years!
